You ought to be in ministry

Adapted from "You ought to be a soldier", with apologies to Tom Clancy and Gen. Fred Franks

If you believe what God says, that God loved the world so much He sent His Son to die on the cross so every person could know how much their lives matter to God, and if you are willing to sacrifice to see that message get out, you ought to be in ministry.

If the sound of “Amazing Grace” and the sight of the cross stir something inside you, then you ought to be in ministry.

If you want to be around a lot of people who feel the same way about all that as you do, you ought to be in ministry.

If you like a challenge, are not afraid of hard work, and think you are tough enough to meet the challenges and standards of the battle for the souls of men and women who matter to God, you ought to be in ministry.

If you and your family are strong enough to endure many sacrifices, often on a moment’s notice, and can live that kind of life, for the sake of a calling from God, you ought to be in ministry.

If the thought that at the end of your life you can say -- or have said about you -- that you served your God, and then hear Him say, “Well done, I’m proud of you”, if that appeals to you and you need no other reward than that, then you ought to be in ministry.
